The Battle of Xuan Loc was the last major battle of the Vietnam War. That was called Fiery Summer. General Le Minh Dao to the defence of Xuan Loc, hoping to stall the advance of the North Vietnamese Army.
The battle was fought between April 9 and 21, 1975. North Vietnam's military forces swept through the northern provinces of South Vietnam virtually unopposed. They wanted Nguyen Van Thieu to end of his political career. But the President of South Vietnam wanted his last military units to hold Xuan Loc. It would be success but Dao's forces retreated on April 19 1975, so Xuan Loc was isolated.

Nguyen Van Thieu resigned on 21 April 1975. He moved to Boston and died in 2001. In life, he didn't like to talk to the media
